For this photography project I chose to do a pet magazine because I have many animals at my house to choose from. Taking the pictures of my pets was a real challenge though. One of my dogs kept jumping up trying to bite my camera. But the hardest part was the cats; being used to being petted they kept getting right up by the camera lens making it very hard to take the pictures of them. Once I downloaded all of my pictures to the computer I went through and figured out which pictures I wanted to use for my magazine cover. Once I was done with that I went onto google and looked for the perfect christmas tree for my background. There were many to choose from but as you can see the one that I used is my favorite. I copy and pasted the tree to be the background the magic lassoed my dog because I wanted her to be beside the tree. Finally I placed the dog beside the tree and adjusted her so it looked like she was actually sitting there. Then I copy and pasted a few other pictures to make it look like a real magazine cover. The article by the picture of the cat says, "ONE CAT'S TAIL", which is a pretty good pun if I don't say so myself. One of the requirements we had was to put a barcode and a price on the cover. Going onto google I looked for a barcode with a price. A couple minutes later I finally found the perfect barcode. One with the barcode and a price. I copy and pasted it onto the magazine cover. After all of the pictures and articles where put on the magazine cover I decided it needed a little bit more. So I selected the picture I wanted to put a border around and then used the paintbrush to color it. Finally I was done, so I went to layer, flatten image, then saved it as a JPEG, and as you can see that is it.

Black and White Photoshop
For this project I turned all of the pictures to black and white then magic lassoed around the different things I wanted colored. Then I changed the color to what I wanted and used the paint brush to color over it. Some of the pictures have more than one color so I used the magic lasso multiple times. My first picture was markers of the same color I then changed the color of each of the markers to make it different. My second picture was of some sponge brushes. I made the colors different shades of blue. The next picture is of some pokey things that I found laying around Mrs. Nelson's room. I highlighted just a few of the pokey things to make them stand out. For my next picture I found some brushes and made the metal part of them stand out. My least favorite picture of of a cord that I found. I made each part of the cord a different color. My favorite picture is of some metal left over from the stained glass people. I colored the metal blue to look like water. The next picture of of some glass and I colored many different pieces of it. For my next photo I took pictures of many sponges then highlighted just one sponge to make it stand out. My second favorite picture is of some jars of leftover paint. I colored all of the lids then changed the inside color of two jars. My last picture if of some pokers. I changed the colors of the handles to make them stand out.

Straight Photography
For this assignment I took pictures of random objects. I put different background colors on different pictures. Each color had a very important job; to bring out the random object. I selected the picture then chose a color, and finally painted the border onto the picture. My first picture is of some tasty candies in Mr. Charley's office. I used a yellow border to accent the one and only yellow candy in the photo. My next picture is of a door hinge type thing. I really could not find a good color so I just used black. My third and favorite picture is of a pin stuck into a corkboard. I thought the color of the pin was brought out with the bright blue border. There was really nothing I could add to this picture. So I decided to just put a white border to help bring out the knob on top of the pipe. My fifth and final picture is of a door and some stairs. I thought a white border brought out the goldness of the door handle.
